HOMEMADE QUADCOPTER

What does is mean by homemade quadcopter? Homemade is for, today we will try to use most of the things which are easily available at home. Qoadcopter consist of quad=4 flying units for the copter. Let’s make it in 4 easy steps.
1.       First of all, take two sticks or anything similar to it which will be of similar size and will sustain some stress. For example you can take your scale but don’t take any heavy material. Now place them as a cross and connect them tightly at middle using wire or string. So this is your basic structure of quadcopter.
2.       Now you need most important thing that is motors. Buy high rpm and low weight motors from market. Normal motors wont work due to its high weight and low rpm. All motors must be similar so as to make quadcopter stable in air. If you are not having them then buy it as they are not so costly. Connect the motors to the ends of cross. Opposite side motors should be connected on same side of stick that is e.g. connect east-west side motors on upper sides of stick and north-south side motors on lower sides of sticks or vice versa. Do this to prevent the collision between to flying units without disturbing stability. Connect the flying pans to the motors. So the basic mechanism of your quadcopter is ready.

3.       These motors can run on pencil cells. Before connecting them to motors, first connect a cylindrical box of nearly area to contain 4 vertical cells. While joining the box to center of cross, make sure that the weight is equally distributed. Fix the lower end of cells by connecting to the corresponding end of motors. Connect the upper end of cells with a switch arrangement for each.
4.       For switching circuit you can use any basic idea like transistor as switch or anything else. Make the remote control of switch inputs. You can use the wireless switching circuit but it will be costlier.
Working
·         If all switches are closed and weight is equally distributed then our quadcopter will go upward very easily.
·         For landing of quadcopter, press the opposite switches like north-south motor’s switches or east-west motor’s switches. Here the weight will be greater to handle for 2 flying units so the level will be decreased rapidly.
·         Most important part is taking turn and that is why mainly switching circuit is used.
o   Consider that you want to take the quadcopter to the east direction.
o   Switch off the eastern motor.
o   Eastern part will lower down.
o   Opposite part that is western part will go upward. So the force applied by western flying unit won’t be vertical, it will contain some vertical component and some horizontal component.
o   Horizontal component will be towards east. So this will move the quadcopter towards east.

Key points
Ø  If your quadcopter is not flying to desired height then
o   Try to minimize its weight.
o   Select the pans of flying unit of critical length and critical surface area so as to get maximum possible output through it.
o   Add 2 more or 4 more flying units.
Ø  Consider a case where for which stopping quadcopter, you need to switch off two opposite motors but the quadcopter is not coming down this simply means you need to add some weight to it
Ø  If any misfire take place then the fault is in weight distribution, try to make it more accurate.
Ø  Power, weight and flying pans of every motor should be identical.
Ø  Motors should be placed at equal distance from center.

This is all from side. If you want more information then ask in comment and give your opinion about how it is. Hopefully you will like it.
