This season of IPL is been predictable and somewhat boring due to lack of nail biting matches. It has even caught some -ve publicity since MSD wasn't the captain of his franchise. Though these things remained throughout the tournament, there were few +ves as well.
For example, in this season the brilliance in batting was mainly shown by Indian batters and if we are choosing best 2 pace bowlers of IPL'17 then no one can select other than Bhuvi and Bumrah.
Personally for me, the team to look up to was RPS. Most predictable spot for them was at 6th/7th/8th position but today they are in finals and they may win the trophy three days later from now.
This IPL was also about the roar of MSD saying he is still the king of this yard. He proved that again in the later part of tournament. He started slowly and then his haters switched to active mode but he made them silent at the second leg of tournament. He showed that he has few years of cricket up in his sleeves. Pune's team was also part of IPL in SAHARA's franchise but in all those 4-5 seasons of PUNE franchise, they have made it to playoffs for the very first time. Th major credit goes to MSD and Ben Stokes. Though stats for Jaydev Unadkat excelled in this season than ever but I feel that he is been lucky. For me the match winners were MSD and Ben only. Rahane and Manoj Tiwari played their part by supporting team. In all 11 players played for the team which was converted into a successful effort for Supergiant.
This article was mainly focussed on RPS, next ones will focus on other teams as well.
I am hoping that Pune can still be a part of next IPL if BCCI increases teams from 8 to 10. If Pune wins this year's edition then chances of them playing g next one will be much higher but it is fix that Goyanka group won't be the franchise for Pune after this year.
Let's hope for the best.
