Being born and grown in Maharashtra, my mother tongue is Marathi. When I started learning English in school I felt pronounciation and spellings are different in English but in Marathi what we pronounce is same as how we spell.
Now I have grown up and I feel that what I used to feel was wrong. I have got to know how pronounciation has changed with time and with places. For example, we pronounce म्हणाला as म्हंला or म्हणला. There are few other ways in which it is pronounce as well.
Languages are so diluted that even if someone pronounce something write then that feels odd to everyone else. Somebody needs to step up to save our language. Pure language is not the basic need of humans but it is something that is passed on to us by our ancestors and we should pass it on to our next generation as it was given to us if not the better version of it.
